Children's Illustrated Classics Book Set

This is 3 small sized children's books from 1979. They are 51/2" by 4". They are a little worn and have a little staining. These are specially adapted versions by other authors. They are for ages 8 and up. The 1st is Captains Courageous by Rudyard Kipling (Mitsu Yamamoto). It follows the adventures of fifteen-year-old Harvey Cheyne Jr., the spoiled son of a railroad tycoon, after he is saved from drowning by a Portuguese fisherman in the north Atlantic. The 2nd is The Last Of The Mohicans by James Fenimore Cooper (Eliza Gatewood Warren). Set against the exciting days of the French and Indian War 200 years ago, this story follows the adventures of colonial scout and his Indian friend, Hawkeye and Chingachgook, two men bound together by their love for the New World and their desire for peace between their races. The 3rd is Oliver Twist by Charles Dickens (Marian Leighton). Born in a workhouse, the orphan Oliver Twist is sold into apprenticeship with an undertaker.
